The initial idea of the “Balkan Women Coalition” rose in 2012 and was developed from partner organizations from Greece, Romania, Croatia, FYROM, Serbia, Albania, Bulgaria and Turkey.

The Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey – KAGIDER is a 20-year-old, nation-wide, non-profit civil society organization. KAGIDER is the most influential women business association in Turkey with more than 400 members, all of whom are women business owners generating a total of around 62 billion USD annual turnover which is almost 8% of Turkey’s economy and they offer job opportunities to around 250.000 people. Since 2002, KAGIDER operates as a nation-wide, world-renowned, non-profit organization whose mission is to enable better educational and employment opportunities, to develop entrepreneurship and leadership for women and is at the vanguard of advocacy for female empowerment. KAGIDER’s mission is to develop and support women entrepreneurship. To strengthen women’s status both economically and socially is our objective. That’s why KAGIDER keeps working with a dream of a world where women produce, express their existence freely and play an effective role in decision-making.
